2024年5月、 The University of Hawaii at Manoa, William S. Richardson School of Lawより、法学博士号(Doctor of Juridical Science, S.J.D.)を授与されました。博士論文のタイトルは、「日米間における域外民事証拠共助法制の研究」(Dealing with Extraterritorial Evidence between the U.S. and Japan in the civil and commercial context)となります。本稿は、例えば、日本の離婚事件の当事者が、アメリカに所在する銀行にある相手方当事者の金融資産に関する証拠を収集する場合のほか、アメリカにおける民事訴訟の当事者が、日本に所在する証拠を収集する場合について、両国間における現行法制度の概要を詳述し、その制度における欠点を指摘した上で、国際公法及び国際民事訴訟手続法の観点から、具体的な改善提案を行うものです。
